Tozer On Christian Leadership…(& Thursday’s Thoughts)

worn bible

Hello Dear Friends,

Another busy, busy day…but we all need to take a little time and listen to the Lord in His guidance for our lives!! I am so thankful, I can chat with the Lord in my quiet place each morning, when I drive and when I run errands, before I sleep each night, in the middle of the night when He allows me to have our special know the 4 am wake up calls ( I call them 🙂 ) and even when among all my lovely family and friends. He never leaves us or forsakes us…PTL!!! (Heb. 13: 5) He is always with us!!

I have this tattered cut out from when I was in high school on my fridge….and I won’t tell you how long ago that was!! 😉

It reads:

“When God seems far away, think who has moved. “

My Dear Sweet Sunday School teacher sent a loving and encouraging post card to me at the time. It meant so much to me…I cut out this little page from my devotional from church and pasted it on the back of that post card. It has been on my fridge since I lived on my own in college.

Funny the things that ‘stick’ with us. It is tattered…not very attractive. The age and wear remind me of the faithfulness of our Lord…He always ‘sticks’ with us!! He is with us always and waiting for a good chat!! I am sooooo thankful He is there every moment of my day…even in my more unlovely moments. He knows the “real” me and loves me still. He helps and teaches me in those real moments to be more like Christ!! Thank you Jesus!!

He is there with you too Dear Friend!! Just take some time to turn to Him today and have a chat!!

He loves you so.

Have a wonderful day Dear Friends…Mr. Tozer again encourages us to serve the Lord well!! 🙂

k xoxo

PS-Thank you for allowing me to combine my Thursday’s Thoughts and Tozer Devotional!! 😉 Again…busy day!!

PTL for a day to serve!!

Revival: The Arrow of Infinite Desire

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled. –Matthew 5:6

These words are addressed to those of God’s children who have been pierced with the arrow of infinite desire, who yearn for God with a yearning that has overcome them, who long with a longing that has become pain.

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.”…

A dead body feels no hunger and the dead soul knows not the pangs of holy desire. “If you want God,” said the old saint, “you have already found Him.” Our desire for fuller life is proof that some life must be there already….

In nature everything moves in the direction of its hungers. In the spiritual world it is not otherwise. We gravitate toward our inward longing, provided of course that those longings are strong enough to move us. Impotent dreaming will not do. The religious urge that is not followed by a corresponding act of the will in the direction of that urge is a waste of emotion. The Size of the Soul, 17-18.

“Oh, God, I have that longing to know You, that hunger and thirst for righteousness, that ‘desire for fuller life.’ Move me along in the direction of that hunger, Lord, and give me the strength to follow ‘in the direction of that urge.’ Amen.”
