Living in Egg Overload…Blessings Galore!!

fresh eggs (brown)

Hello Dear Friends,

Today my sweet husband came and told me we are low on laying hens. “Low on laying hens?” I said.Β He answered “yes”. “But we are in egg overload!! ” my replay. With all the heat…usually, the hens slow down on laying. Of course our chickens, ducks, geese, guineas live in large quarters, automatic waterers, gardens planted just for them to graze as well as pastures of bugs for eating, scraps from our table and when they are naughty they eat fruit off the trees and bushes!! πŸ˜‰

So though I wouldn’t say it was the Ritz…it is pretty good poultry gigs!! πŸ™‚

One wonderful gift of being in egg overload is we have extras to share. We have been blessed to do this for years..but there was an original intent that we would raise poultry and sell eggs. And we have been blessed to do this as well. My sweet husband wanted this for so long. Now it is a blessing to see his heart change to give as many as he can away!! πŸ™‚ And today, this sweet man of mine went to purchase more chicks for the sole purpose to raise and give away eggs. I LOVE that man!!

He still every now and then will take some money…especially from those who he gives large amounts of eggs to regularly. But after today, I pray we can add more layers to prayerfully give more away. Β Odd prayer I know…to consume more to give more away…but isn’t that what we are to do with the gifts and talents God gives us?

I am reminded of the parable of the talents. Matthew 25:14-31 Please take a moment to read it…for quick reading go to Exellent resource. πŸ™‚

What will we do with our gifts and talents? Are we blessing others or storing up? Are we feeding others, ministering needs or keeping all buried away or using all?

Now, when we first moved to our little property…we needed to help subsidize the expenses. So it was the responsible thing to do in selling eggs. I also would cook allot with them and even put up in the freezer for recipes year round…still do. (Again, poultry quits laying in extreme heat and extreme cold…though we do provide heat lamps in winter…again, Poultry Ritz…almost!! πŸ˜‰ )

Where we are now…though money is not overflowing, we are able to share and that is such a lovely opportunity to grow in the love of the Lord. We can share and if asked…gladly give reason as to why we share. The Lord has blessed us, may He bless those with the simple gift of our farm fresh eggs!

How simple…it is more blessed to give than receive. Acts 20:35

There is great joy in this journey. We just must keep our eyes on the prize…Christ and to seek to please Him!! And while on this earth…to live like Christ.

So much like the story of the loaves and fishes. Matthew 15:33-38. With the lowest amount of poultry ever on the property…we are in egg overload!! And it is 104 degrees today outside!! The Lord is amazing!! πŸ™‚

Today, in an effort to keep busy, my sweet husband and son ran into town then to the city to go to the feed store and look into adding more poultry. When arriving into the city, the sweet woman sold all at an incredible discount…chicks and ducklings. My husband laughed and said frequent buyers discount!! πŸ˜‰ So many years, they know him at this feed store in the nearby large city. That is amazing in and of itself!!

So as he went with a heart to give…he was blessed by this sweet woman as well!! What a testimony to him and a testimony to our son!! To God be the glory…even in egg and now poultry layers overload!! πŸ™‚

keep it simple and serve the Lord well…

give with your whole heart…

and bless those around you with your lovely gifts and talents!!

He loves you so, Dear One.

k xoxo
